The longtime music supervisor of "American Idol" and her husband were found dead in their Los Angeles home this week following what police say was a deadly home invasion.

Robin Kaye and her husband, Thomas Deluca, were discovered by LAPD officers on July 15 after a welfare check was requested at their residence on White Oak Avenue in Encino, WCVB reported. Both victims had apparent gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Kaye had worked as a music supervisor on "American Idol" for more than a decade, earning industry respect for her role shaping the sound of the popular singing competition. Her credits spanned dozens of television shows, with early work including Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the late 1990s.

The show's producers called her a "cornerstone" of the Idol family in a statement released Tuesday.

According to the LAPD, the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian, allegedly broke into the couple's home while they were away on July 10. When the couple returned unexpectedly, a confrontation occurred, and police say Boodarian fatally shot them. He was arrested shortly after and is currently in custody.
