Nicholas Hoult and on-and-off again girlfriend Jennifer Lawrence have called it quits once again E! News reported. The couple met on set in 2011 while filming X-Men: First Class.

A source told the entertainment news website that their split has been very amicable and that their successful careers made it hard on the relationship. The source told E!, "They spent a lot of time apart because of work, and it was difficult on their relationship."

However, Celebrity Fix claimed that the cause of Lawrence and Hoult's breakup is Lawrence's "exploded ego" and obsession with the tinseltown scene. The article also said that Hoult shuns the limelight while Lawrence is the complete opposite.

Lawrence was also spotted in L.A. recently working on a photo shoot with Vanity Fair, while Nicholas was filming in Tokyo, Japan for his new movie, Equals which he is starring alongside Kristen Stewart.

At a press conference in Tokyo to discuss the film Equals (and to talk about their on-screen chemistry) Hoult said, "It's always a weird position to be put in any film where the director chooses two people and is saying, "Hey, potentially in this world I'm creating you two could fall in love," People said.

New York Daily News reported that Hoult took Stewart for a meal and were spotted grabbing lunch at a Tokyo sushi bar as the two attempted to keep a low profile. The article also added that Lawrence addressed the speculation of Stewart and Hoult getting closer on set.

The actress told the June issue of Marie Claire about being jealous of Stewart, "There was something in a magazine, and I was like, "Oh, my god, that's hilarious," because Kristen and I are friends. I actually texted her a picture of it and was like, "Just so you know, this is absolutely true."
