Republican Georgia representative Marjorie Taylor Greene appeared to accuse Democrats of stoking insurrection in a post on X in which she tagged the U.S. Justice Department and FBI.

The post included a short clip of New Jersey Democratic representative LaMonica McIver shouting "Goddamn it, shut down the Senate. We are at war!"

"This sounds like a call to insurrection to me," Greene wrote while reposting the clip.

McIver made her comments on the steps of the Senate during a protest regarding tech billionaire Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Musk's advisory committee gained read-only access to the U.S. Treasury's federal payment system that handles trillions of dollars worth of payments. DOGE also took action against the USAID agency, putting dozens of workers on leave.

Some Democrats have suggested the party use the Senate's rules and procedures to slow down or block the approval of Trump appointees in protest of his policies.

Greene's comments appear to be a reference to Democrats insisting that President Trump's comments on January 6 helped fuel the capitol riots. Nearly 1,600 people were charged criminally related to the riots, but Trump pardoned all of them shortly after taking office.
