Fans of the Insidious film franchise - and anyone who loves a great horror flick for that matter, will have something to gush about. The film's official Twitter account has recently revealed a first look at the Insidious: Chapter 3 film set, confirming that cameras had begun to roll on the set of the successful box-office film franchise.

A prequel to Insidious: Chapter 2, Screenrant reports that the film will not focus on the Lambert family from the previous film, but will shift its attention to a different family terrorized by demons from The Further.

A newly-released logline from Focus Features reveals that the events in Insidious: Chapter 3 takes place before the previous films. An excerpt from the logline read, "Insidious: Chapter 3, a twisted new tale of terror begins for a teenage girl and her family, predating the haunting of the Lambert family in the earlier movies and revealing more mysteries of the otherworldly realm of The Further."

Marking the special announcement of the film franchise, Focus Features also launched an Insidious 3 Set Visit Sweepstakes on its official Facebook and Twitter pages. At stake is a two night, three day trip in Los Angeles, California to visit the set of the film. The contest will run from July 21, 2014 to July 24, 2014. Official rules can be found here.

Insidious: Chapter 3 is written and directed by Leigh Whannell and will be produced by former Insidious director, James Wan. Alongside Whannell who is also reprising his role as Specs, the film will also star previous Insidious cast members, Lin Shayne, who will reprise her role as the paranormal activity specialist, Elise Reiner, and Angus Sampson, as ghost hunter Tucker. Newcomers to the film will be Dermont Mulroney (August: Osage County) and Stefanie Scott (of the upcoming 2015 film, Jem and the Holograms.)

Insidious: Chapter 3 is slated for release on May 29, 2015.
