Rats of NIMH Gets Iron Man 2, The Da Vinci Code Visual Director

By

Filmn adaptations have always been a thing and has been happening for quite a long time, and it definitely won't be stopping any time soon. Film adaptations can range from anything including historical events, video games, and even childhood memories. With the announcement of "Rats of Nimh", the film adaptation business has been looking for just the right visual director to fill the movie's and the fans' needs and requirements, and it seems they've found it within James Madigan, the same exact man who worked on the special effects for "Iron Man 2" and "The Da Vinci Code."

According to Movieweb.com, James Madigan was chosen nearly two years after the project was first set up at MGM (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures). After spending 16 years working in various areas of visual effects, this is planned to be Mr. Madigan's directional debut and hopefully moving him up the ladder. The movie's plot will be very similar to the original novel, "Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH", so as to stay true to its authenticity.

To simplify the plot without getting into too many details, Variety claims that the story will be revolving around a group of labrats that are recruited to save a family of rodents. To further back Madigan's merit in his field and to prove that he is worthy of being nominated for this particular position, Madigan has won an Emmy and two Visual Effects Society Awards. Though details of the rest of the movie are scant and few, fans will at least know that the visual effects of the movie are being handled with care.

While we still don't know who the cast of actors will be for the film, "The Secret of Nimh"'s actors had a few very popular actors included in it such as Dom DeLuise, Wil Wheaton, Derek Jacobi and others. The movie's script will be written by Micheal Berg, who handled the Ice Age movies along with Daniel Bobker and Ehren Kruger. It is certainly refreshing to know that if anything, at least the movie now has a direction it's heading towards.
