‘Game of Thrones’ actor Will Tudor is set to join ‘Shadowhunters’ season 2 to take on the role of a recurring character in the hit fantasy series. He will play new character Sebastian, who is set to make his first appearance in the second half of the second season.
As pointed out by Variety, Freeform’s announcement of Tudor’s participation in the series did not mention Sebastian’s last name, whose real name in Cassandra Clare’s book series is Jonathan Chistopher Fairchild Morgenstern. Sebastian’s arrival in ‘Shadowhunters’ season 2 could propel Jace and Clary into toughening up their brother-sister relationship.
The ‘Shadowhunters’ TV series follows Clare’s young-adult novel series, ‘The Mortal Instruments.’ The story revolved around Clary Fray (Katherine McNamara) who learns of her Shadowhunter identity. Such beings are a mix of humans and angels who offer protection to the world as they fight off demons. ‘Shadowhunters’ season 2 offers more action as tensions begin to rise between Valentine Morgenstern (Alan Van Sprang) and the Shadow World.
It remains uncertain whether new character Sebastian will serve as ally to Clary, Jace (Dominic Sherwood), Alec (Matthew Daddario), Isabelle (Emeraude Toubia) and the other Shadowhunters. Deadline previously stated that Tudor’s character will make an attempt to make friends with these main characters. Fans can look forward to Sebastian being a “charming, brilliant and highly educated Shadowhunter with unrivaled fighting abilities.”
The upcoming ‘Shadowhunters’ season 2 episode will feature Clary and Isabelle asking help from the Iron Sisters, known in the books as the Silent Brothers’ female versions. Using arcane runes, they are capable of having a deeper knowledge of the Gray Book. Through the Sisters’ aid, the female duo will be able to learn about Valentine’s next plans. Alec is also featured with Magnus Bane (Harry Shum Jr.) as he tries to sit back and free his mind from all of their concerns, admitting that his current circumstances do not offer him a chance at a real relationship.
