New Pikachu Nintendo 3DS XL Absolutely Adorable

Let's face it: Nintendo's started the year of 2017 strong, stronger than the rest of its competitors, and it did this with strategy and timing, the kind of strategy one needs to make sure that their empire continues to have a lasting effect on its consumers. It gives them memories of their major franchises, and the memory sticks with the consumers as they move on from console to console and platform to platform all under the guise of Nintendo's hypnotic spell. Yet despite Nintendo's ambitious charges forward with their new and highly regarded console, the Nintendo Switch, this does not mean that they've forgotten about their other products. In fact, Nintendo has quite a reputation of making special editions of its consoles provided they haven't aged too much or if they've aged to a certain point.

For those of you still interested in buying a new 3DS XL despite the recent news of the Nintendo Switch, you'll be happy to know that Nintendo has decided to release a new design for another one of its loved handheld consoles, and this redesign, often referred to as another one of Nintendo's "limited edition" versions, features a favored mascot of the Pokemon franchise for young and old fans alike. According to The Verge, Pikachu, the #1 most popular pPokemonin all of the Pokemon franchise, will be making an appearance on the covers of new 3DS XLs as limited edition versions.

Forbes reports that this edition of the new 3DS XL will be sold at $199.99, a $100 short of the set price for the Nintendo Switch. If you're thinking about going all in on the Switch, remember that the Switch will not be able to play 3DS games, so this would be a worthwhile investment considering the track record behind Nintendo's handheld business. If there's anything to show, it's that Nintendo shows love to its handhelds despite the announcement of the Switch, and this should be enough proof that when it comes to handheld gaming, Nintendo dominated the field.
