Pokémon Bank Update: Gen 1 Transfer Explained But No Release Date Yet

By

Since the announcement of the latest Pokémon game - Pokémon Sun & Moon, to the world last year, fans have been teased with the its new feature of integrating Poké Bank into the game play which allows player to trade and transfer their Pokemon from previous games - Alpha & Sapphire, XY and the Virtual Console releases of Red, Blue and Yellow.

It has been several months since the release of the 7th Generation of Pokemon but the storage app has not been upgraded yet to bring the compatibility to the new games. With January nearing its end and not a peep from The Pokémon Company about when the Nintendo 3DS app's big update is coming, many fans are making their anxiety and impatience publicly known, reported Polygon.

Pokébank is an application players can download to their Nintendo 3DS from Nintendo eShop and is basically a huge thing for the new Pokemon Sun & Moon, mainly because of the new Pokedex system will be updated allowing National Pokedex to be activated so players could "catch em' all".  When it becomes compatible with the latest pair of Pokémon 3DS games, the paid service will offer storage for up to 3,000 Pokémon.

Meanwhile, the Hong Kong Pokémon website have released new screenshots and information regarding how transfering Pokémon from Red, Blue and Yellow will work., Here is what players should expect when transferring their Gen 1 Pokémon to Sun and Moon, according to Serebii :

-       Every Pokémon transferred with have a minimum of 3 max IVs

-       Nature will be random.

-       There's a chance that the Pokémon will have its Hidden Ability

-       Pokémon transferred from Red, Blue or Yellow will have a special GameBoy mark next to them.

-       The National PokeDex will sync with the games you use with Pokémon Bank (X and Y, ORAS) and will list all the Pokémon you've seen/caught in all those games.

-       Players can spend Battle Points.

-       Stats like eggs hatched, Pokémon caught etc. are tracked.

Unfortunately, the release date for the Pokémon Bank update was not listed on the website as well.
