We all love eating French fries. Whether it's at work or when studying, we simply just cannot get enough of this fast food chain staple. However, new findings by scientists may encourage people to stop eating French fries.

In an article posted in Time, the UK Food Standards Agency has issued a warning on people who loves eating French fries. These types of foods contains acrylamide, which is a major contributor in cancer among animals.  The FSA recommends everyone to cook their food at low temperature and aim for a more golden color. Furthermore, the agency recommends not overloading your food with starch as well as storing potatoes in our refrigerator.

French fries is made from potato which is a healthy food. However, scientists and other experts recently discovered the carcinogenic property of French fries. 7 of the 9 experts involved in the study has given its disapproval of French fries. According to Jonathan Bonnet, a family medicine resident physician, the potato cooked at home is different from the fries we eat in fast food chains.

What is alarming, as revealed in the study and published in the website of Beyond, French fries is already eaten by infants who are only in their 15th to 18th months. Fries will become the top vegetable eaten by toddlers.

French fries contains acrylamide, which the Joint Food and Agricultural Organization/World Health Organization Expert Committee on Food Additives has called the acrylamide as a human health concern that requires further studies to determine its effects on human diet. As stated in the website of National Cancer Institute, acrylamide is a known carcinogen based on studies in laboratory animals.

No one is being encouraged to stop earing French fries but only limit the intake of this carcinogenic food. After all, as the website of Labrada.com, eating French fries is such a bad idea.
