Last year, one of the biggest scandals took place in the month of October regarding the famous reality TV star - Kim Kardashian West. It came as no surprise that the whole Kardashian family was thoroughly distraught from the incident. A gang burst into Kim's hotel room while she was in Paris getting ready for a big fashion show, tied her up and locked her in the hotel's bathroom while she sobbed and pleaded for her life. The incident left Kim shaken and scared.
Kim and her family were not the only ones distressed and dismayed, Kanye West - husband of Kim Kardashian - who had an upcoming concert after the incident took place performed miserably and was not in the right state of mind either. Shortly after he dropped the mic at his concert and left the arena he was rushed to a hospital for being under severe stress. After a week or more he was released and remained in a delicate condition. ABC News reports; the gang of robbers dressed as police officers as they barged in Kim's room.
But lucky for the reality TV star family, NYTimes states that the gang of robbers have finally been arrested. The suspects who were armed and dangerous were mostly in their 50s. The police succeeding in capturing the gang by coordinated raids.
An estimate on the jewelry's monetary worth was calculated and the result was rounded off to $10.5m. Some of the stolen pieces were described to be a box of jewelry that contained items worth €6m alongside a ring worth €4m. A diamond cross pendant was also stolen but was found the following day fallen in a nearby street.
DNA Slip
The robbers apparently did not think the whole operation through for certain DNA samples were obtained from items they did not pay much attention and care to. The diamond cross which was dropped by the gang on the street and the material used in tying up the star, had prints of the individuals.
BBC reports that the police said "One of the DNA samples matched an individual known to police for robbery and criminal offences." After this evidence was found, a group of 6 BRB detectives set to work and hijacked the phones of the accused.
After getting that upper hand, the detectives soon tracked down one of the members who was conducting a meeting with a potential buyer interested in the stolen jewelry pieces. That marked the end of the gang running freely in the streets of Paris.
