Disney XD general manager Marc Buhaj officially announced that they picked up "Star Wars Rebels" Season 3. While waiting for the official scheduled launch, speculated storylines have surfaced the net such as Darth Maul's return and Ezra's possibility to join the Dark Side.
Disney XD general manager Marc Buhaj officially announced the good news that the network has picked up "Star Wars Rebels" Season 3 for a renewal.
]Buhaj stated, "We are proud to bring our audience a 3rd season of Star Wars Rebels, a series that has resonated across generations. The creative team behind the series continues to do a brilliant job in delivering on the key tenets that fans have to come to expect from a Star Wars property including adventure, hope, and the battle between good vs. evil.", Den of Geek has cited.
With that being said, Darth Maul has been speculated to appear in the upcoming installment of the anime series. According to Outer Places, Darth Maul might make a major comeback as the new season's antagonist. Darth Maul happens to be a male Dathomirian Zabrak Sith Lord who lived during the waning years of the Galactic Republic.
On the other hand, Ezra Bridger aka Spectre 6 has the potential to join the dark side in Star Wars Rebels Season 3. This speculation stemmed since he had been lured by Darth Maul to come with him in the Dark Side. He will find himself struggling his way out of the enemies even if he was trained well by Padawan. Ezra happens to be a young Force sensitive human street urchin, Christian Daily notes.
As of now, the production for the American animated series is currently underway. The official release date for "Star Wars Rebels" Season 3 has not been announced by the network or its executive producers just yet. The show, however, is expected to premiere during the latter months of this year first and exclusive on Disney XD.
