'World War Z 2' is an upcoming science-fiction and horror film intended as the follow-up to Marc Forster's film of the same name released in 2013. According to Ace Showbiz, Pitt has been eyeing Delevingne to star in the upcoming sequel to the apocalyptic action-horror film released in 2013. Pitt, who plays the lead protagonist Gerry Lane, was reportedly desperate to sign the model-turned-actress for a lead role but couldn't push through with negotiations due to scheduling conflicts.
Delevingne rose to international fame for her modeling work for several big designer labels including Dolce & Gabbana, Jason Wu and Burberry for which she won Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards. She went on to appear in a minor role in the 2012 film adaptation of Anna Karenina. She also starred in 2015's romantic comedy 'Paper Towns' and will make her DC Extended Universe (DCEU) debut as The Enchantress in the upcoming 'Suicide Squad' film alongside Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto and Viola Davis.
According to another article by Pan Armenian, Pitt will continue courting the 23-year old actress despite her busy schedule. An insider revealed, "He's opened his contacts book to her and given her numbers of the best acting teachers in Hollywood... He really thinks she's got what it takes to win an Oscar one day."
Pitt played Gerry Lane, a retired United Nations investigator tasked at studying a zombie pandemic spiraling out of control. In the original film directed by Marc Forster, Pitt was joined by Mireille Enos, Daniella Kerstesz, Fana Mokoena and David Morse. The film followed a zombie outbreak that threatened to end humanity and forced survivors in metropolitan areas around the world to fight for their lives.
No further details regarding the sequel have been released as of the present. Juan Antonio Bayona was previously attached to helm the film but eventually exited the project.
Meanwhile, it was reported by Yahoo! News that rumors of an imminent divorce between Pitt and his wife Angelina Jolie have exploded all over the internet. Pitt's supposed obsession to sign Delevingne to his film company Plan B purportedly made things worse for the celebrity couple. However, these speculations continue to be unsubstantiated.
