CBS has lost interest to renew "Person of Interest" Season 5 for a 6th season. Apart from that, Sarah Shahi has confirmed that she will reprise her role as Sameen Shaw and series creator Jonathan Nolan has a message to the fans regarding the 5th and final season.

CBS loses its interest in picking up "Person of Interest" after season 5. This is because the show experienced a steady decline in ratings in its recent seasons. Despite the massive support that the online petition via change.org is receiving, the viewership ratings stated otherwise, TV Series Finale reported.

Other than that, Sarah Shahi officially confirmed that she is going to be a part of "Person of Interest" Season 5. The 36-year-old American actress will reprise her role as Sameen Shaw aka Indigo Five Alpha. Shaw happens to be a physician, former operative and governor assassin for the U.S. Army Intelligence Support Activity, ex-member of the Catalyst Indigo.

Shahi temporarily left the show for maternity leave and gave birth to twins this March 1st. Shahi's character was last seen during the middle part of season 4, Ecumenical News has cited

In addition, creator Jonathan Nolan has a message to the fans about the final season of POI. Nolan stated via Deadline, "We're extremely excited to share this final season with the fans. We're eternally grateful to our amazing cast and crew, as well as our partners at the studio and network.

Most of all, we want to thank the best fans in the world.  As life has come to imitate 'Person of Interest', it's been our great privilege to work on the show for the past 5 seasons."

"Person of Interest" Season 5 returns in the small screen on May 3, 2016 first and exclusive on CBS.

"Person of Interest" is an American science fiction crime drama TV series created by Jonathan Nolan and executively produced by Greg Plageman.
