'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7: Stefan's magically transferred scar brings unexpected consequences to Damon

The CW president Mark Pedowitz has announced that "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 will continue for season 8. Candice Accola-King who is currently on maternity leave is set to return in the final episode of this season. Also, the official plot description of episode 16 'Days of Future Past' has been released by The CW.

The CW president Mark Pedowitz officially announced that "The Vampire Diaries" has been renewed for an 8th installment. The Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley-starrer will be a part of their 2016 and 2017 line-up. However, no information has been stated about the number of episodes that the network has ordered, TV Line has cited.

Other than that, cast member Candice Accola-King, who plays the role of Caroline Forbes, officially returns in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. According to International Business Times, the 28-year-old American actress, singer and songwriter has been absent for four consecutive episodes since she is currently having her maternity leave. Accola gave birth to a baby girl named Florence May King last January 15, 2016. Accola's character is set to reappear in the finale episode of the season.

As for the official plot of episode 16, Spoilers Guide notes, "Damon offers to have Stefan's scar magically transferred to him and discovers that doing so may come with unexpected consequences. With time running out and Rayna closing in on Stefan, Valerie desparately attempts to reason with Damon before it's too late; After being framed from breaking Rayna out of The Armory, Enzo attempts to clear his name, but not before a violent run-in with Nora forces him to make a recovery."

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 Episode 16 is entitled as "Days of Future Past". The forthcoming episode is scheduled to premiere on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. exclusively on The CW.
