Camille Cosby's Second Deposition Over Defamation Lawsuit Rescheduled in April

The wife of the disgraced comedian-actor, Bill Cosby, Camille Cosby to have her second deposition cancelled until next month. A defamation lawsuit was filed by the representing lawyer of the seven women against Bill Cosby that states his wife, Camille Cosby to give deposition on the said case.

According to ABC News, on February 22, the American television personality, Camille Cosby appeared on her deposition on February 22, and her second questioning was set initially the next week. However, her representing lawyers asked to give them more time, where they both agreed to carry out her second deposition on April 18, Attorney Joseph Cammarata said.

Cammarata also added, he hopes to depose the accused comedian actor after Camille Cosby finishes her deposition, in spite the fact that there still no scheduled date. Lawyers representing Bill Cosby have requested the judge to dismiss the defamation lawsuit against him, as he still has pending sexual assault case in Pennsylvania, Yahoo News reported.

Last month, Bill Cosby's wife filed a motion to make an appeal regarding the judge's order for her deposition, according to Daily Mail. She also argued that she should not testify against her husband or even provide information from their "private conversations", her court document stated. However, the motion was dismissed by a Massachusetts judge on January. Her lawyers have applied the marital privilege in order to avoid being deposed.

However, an emergency motion was filed by the plaintiffs, statiting they will call on US Marshals in order to make sure Camille Cosby's appearance for her deposition. Her lawyers then asked that the deposition to pushed back the date, on which the appeal was approved.

The women defamation lawsuit against Bill Cosby claims his representatives falsely branded them as liars when they publicly alleged he sexually assaulted them decades ago. Seven women filed the suit including, Tamara Green, Therese Serignese, Linda Traitz, Louisa Moritz, Barbara Bowman, Joan Tarshis and Angela Leslie.
