OnePlus One Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow via Dirty Unicorns: Update Guide

OnePlus One phones just got backing for Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow upgrade via Dirty Unicorns custom ROM. Dirty Unicorns is promised to help device unleash its full potential with its wide array of customization options and tweaks.

OnePlus One is lucky enough to take a chance of custom update to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow through Dirty Unicorns custom ROM. Known to be already fast, stable and smooth, Dirty Unicorns will bring forward a good number of native custom features and enhancements.

Be reminded that installing any ROMs to a device voids its warranty. Additionally, it might entail damage on the device so install it with caution at one's risk.

Below are the prerequisites of installing ROMs:

1.     Install TWRP Recovery here.

3.     Back up all necessary data here.

4.     Download USB driver here.

To install Dirty Unicorn on OnePlus One, here's a quick guide

1.     Download on PC the Android 6.0.1 Dirty Unicorn ROM here and GApps here.

2.     Connect phone to PC using the USB cable.

3.     Copy then paste downloaded ROM to phone's memory or SD card.

4.     Switch off phone and plug it out from the PC.

5.     Go to Recovery Mode by press holding volume up, home and power buttons.

6.     Choose 'Wipe' to delete of data and 'Swipe to Factory Reset'.

7.     Go to main menu and choose 'Install'. Choose the copied ZIP file on the phone.

8.     Choose 'Swipe to Confirm Flash'.

9.     Wait for the installation to complete.

10.  When phone gets into any boot loops or other troubles, tap 'Wipe cache/dalvik' button.

11.  Choose 'Reboot System'.

 Go to Settings > About phone to check the new software version.
