LG G5 Confirmed to Launch in Canada on April 8

LG Electronics' flagship device, LG G5, which was unveiled during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016, is now confirmed to be released in Canada on April 8.

According to Android Headlines, the South Korean tech company confirmed that the LG G5 will be launched in Canada on April. This handset will be made available through Best Buy, The Source, Costco and Wireless Wave. But all major Canadian carriers, including Bell, Telus and Rogers (Fido), and regional carriers like Eastlink, MTS, SaskTel, Videotron and the recently acquired Wind Mobile will be waiting to sell the new handset from LG.

Aside from the availability of LG G5, it was also reported that Rogers is currently having a promotion. If buyers would reserve the LG G5, they will get a free LG CAM Plus with a $99 value upon purchase and activation on a two-year plan. The LG CAM Plus is one of the modules that slide in where the battery goes and it adds up a nice grip to the device. It also gives more camera control as it almost turns the LG G5 into a true point-and-shoot camera.

On the other hand, Videotron stated that it will start taking orders for the LG G5 on March 31 and will offer the free bundled LG CAM Plus. Carriers are expected to offer them while supplies last.

Additionally, Ubergizmo noted that LG Electronics also confirmed that the LG G5 will be available across all four major US carriers namely, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon. But as of the moment, the carriers haven't confirmed an exact schedule yet other than its availability on April. With this, the LG G5's April 8th launch in Canada could be used as a guide or indication that the smartphone's release in the US is around the corner.

For reference, MobileSyrup cited some of LG G5's specs and features. This handset is engineered with a Snapdragon 820 SoC. It features a 5.3-inch QHD display and is packed with a 4GB of RAM. As for the camera, it is armed with two rear-facing cameras which include an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens. The G5 is powered by a 2,800mAh battery and has support for USB-C, as well as WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2 and LTE connectivity.

There ar eno details yet about its pricing but LG G5 is expected to arrive in three colors: Silver, Titan and Pink. This, however, still depends on where the consumer will make their purchase.
