Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N900 Gets Galaxy Note 5’s Features & Apps with Android 5.1.1 Music of Life Lollipop Custom ROM: How to Install

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 owners can now experience some features from Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy Note 5 phones via Music of Life custom ROM, which is based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Some of ROM's offerings from Galaxy Note 5 include action memo, S Pen air command, theme store and a lot more.

Music of Life is the custom ROM perfect for older Samsung phablets as it brings in new Galaxy phones' features. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with model number N900 must be lucky enough to receive get supported by this ROM despite it being ditched from the official list of Marshmallow recipients.

Like any other custom ROMs, interested device owners are cautioned to take responsibility of their phones, as installing ROMs might brick them. Take note of the following reminders and preconditions before proceeding to the installation of Music of Life

1.     Make sure that Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has model number N900. Using other variant may cause severe damage to phone. To know the model number of the phone, go to Settings > About device or About phone.

2.     Install TWRP Recovery here.

3.     Back up all necessary data here, including apps, SMS messages, contacts, call history, APN settings and more. Samsung KIES can also be used for backup.

4.     Download USB driver here.

5.     Installing the any custom ROM induces risk of damaging device. Neither this site nor developers of the Music of Life will be held responsible for such damage.

To proceed with the installation, here's a quick guide:

1.     Download Android 5.1.1 Music of Life ROM and GApps on PC.

2.     Connect phone to PC using the USB cable.

3.     Copy then paste downloaded ROM to phone's memory or SD card.

4.     Switch off phone and plug it out from the PC.

5.     Go to Recovery Mode by press holding volume up, home and power buttons.

6.     Choose 'Wipe' to delete of data and 'Swipe to Factory Reset'.

7.     Go to main menu and choose 'Install'. Choose the copied ZIP file on the phone.

8.     Choose 'Swipe to Confirm Flash'.

9.     Wait for the installation to complete.

10.  When phone gets into any boot loops or other troubles, tap 'Wipe cache/dalvik' button.

11.  Choose 'Reboot System'.

Check the software version of the device on Settings > About phone.
