‘Chucky 7’ in the works? 'Child's Play' Filmmaker Don Mancini teases development on Twitter; Initial Plot, Cast Details Revealed

The time to play again with the merciless murderer spirit that got stuck in a doll might be nearing as Chucky is reportedly on its way to the big screen again for Child's Play 7. The team behind the franchise has been silent since the Curse of Chucky hit theaters in 2013, and this could be because of their secret preparation for the seventh installment.

Chucky, also known as Child's Play, which scared a lot of children since it hit theaters in 1988, is far from over as another film is being teased by its creator. According to Den of Geek, Don Mancini has teased the fans over Twitter that Chucky 7 could be on the way. Mancini has taken it to Twitter saying "HE'S BA-AAAAAACK (SOON) #Chucky7" and attached a photo of the iconic doll. Moreover, he directly sent a tweet to Jenifer Tilly saying that "SHOULD WE SHOOT CHUCKY 7 IN CAPETOWN?" instigating fans to speculate that the latter might join.

 Movie Pilot wrote that Jennifer Tilly is also keen to do it as she replied to the tweet saying "Capetown is great. The crew is really professional and you can't beat the weather!" The actress is said to be a masterful addition to the franchise since 1998 as Tiffany. Together with Brad Dourif as Chucky, the two were able to give the franchise more power, taking it to a whole new level everytime it returns to the silver screen.

The details of the seventh installment for Chucky is further written by Latin Post. The plot will reportedly follow the events of 2013's Curse of Chucky and the return of Tiffany. But Mancini also added that Chucky's children, Glen and Glenda, could be included in the sequel. He added "I wanted to do something surprising with it because I thought, people wouldn't expect the offspring of Chucky to be this pacifist, sweet-natured schizophrenic." Though the twins are considered to be minor characters, the director is still thinking of ideas for the both of them.

The Child's Play franchise that started in 1988 was co-written by Don Mancini who continued to write the five subsequent films with the latest in 2013's Curse of Chucky. The seventh installment is rumored to feature Fiona Dolurif and Summer Howell, aside from Dourif and Tilly. Chucky 7 is expected to debut on 2017, although there is no confirmation yet from the makers.
