Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 P3100 Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update via crDroid Custom ROM: Installation Guide

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 with model number P3100 can now proceed to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow despite being disqualified from the official update. Through crDroid custom ROM, the 7-inch Samsung tablet will experience Marshmallow features courtesy of the custom build.

The crDroid has finally been made available to Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 P3100. This ROM in famed to have awesome features that no other custom builds have. The crDroid brings a ton of customization options as it is known for. According to Team Android, the stability and performance of the ROM is 'quiet stellar' to begin with.

Before downloading and installing Android 6.0.1 crDroid on the device, take note of the following reminders and prerequisites:

1.     Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 should have model number I9300. Do not use any other model as it may cause severe damage on the device.

2.     Install TWRP Recovery on Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 here.

3.     Back up all necessary data here.

4.     Download USB driver here.

To download and install Android 6.0.1 crDroid to Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 P3100, here's a step-by-step guide:

1.     Down load Android 6.0.1 crDroid ROM here for Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 on PC.

2.     Connect Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 to PC using a USB cable.

3.     Copy then paste downloaded ROM to phone's memory or SD card.

4.     Switch off phone and plug it out from the PC.

5.     Go to Recovery Mode by press holding volume up, home and power buttons.

6.     Choose 'Wipe' to delete of data and 'Swipe to Factory Reset'.

7.     Go to main menu and choose 'Install'. Choose the copied ZIP file on the phone.

8.     Choose 'Swipe to Confirm Flash'.

9.     Wait for the installation to complete.

10.  When phone gets into any boot loops or other troubles, tap 'Wipe cache/dalvik' button.

11.  Choose 'Reboot System'.

To verify the update, go to Settings > About phone.
