Michael Madison: Registered Sex Offender & Serial Killer Suspect Faces Numerous Murder Charges for the Slayings of 3 Women (Video)

The three women whose bodies were found wrapped in trash bags in East Cleveland have been identified, NBC News reported. The three identities are 18-year-old Shirellda Hellen Terry, 28-year-old Shetisha Sheely and 38-year-old Angela Deskins.

Suspect Michael Madison is in custody and facing preliminary charges of aggravated murder and kidnapping in the multiple murders. He is also a registered sex offender who served four years in prison, which began in 2002 for attempted rape and attempted drug possession. Since his arrest on Friday, Madison has since been moved from the East Cleveland Jail to Cuyahoga County Jail, NBC News also reported.

East Cleveland police responded to a call concerning a foul odor on Friday when they discovered a body in a garage. Within hours, they identified Madison as a suspect and was soon arrested after a brief standoff at his mother's house.

Authorities found the additional bodies on Saturday after questioning Madison. By Sunday, they called off another search for even more victims. All victims were believed to have been killed in the past six to 10 days as the bodies were found about 100 to 200 yards apart, NBC News reported.

East Cleveland Mayor Gary Norton, shocked by the case, said he knew one of the victims:  "[Angela Deskins] always had a place to rest her head, they always assured that she had money to live with," Norton said. "And just when she trusted herself - she was a very trusting person - entrusted herself to someone who had the worst of intentions, then and only then did this fate befall her."

In police interviews, Madison led investigators to believe he might have been influenced by Cleveland serial killer Anthony Sowell who was arrested in October 2009 in the murders of eleven women whose bodies were discovered at his Cleveland duplex. He was sentenced to the death penalty.
