Super Bowl 50 Update: Conservatives, Republicans Accuse Beyoncé’s Half Time Performance as ‘Attack on Police Officers’

Apparently not everyone is a fan of Queen B and not everybody viewed her Super Bowl performance positively. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani claimed that Beyoncé used her performance to "attack police officers".

The former mayor targeted Beyoncé saying she used it as a platform to protest. He found it outrageous as he pointed out that Beyoncé's dancers were dressed like in the Black Panther movement. The Wrap said according to Rudy Giuliani the police are there to protect the people and not the other way around. He also said that Super Bowl was football and not Hollywood. He also commented that the performance should be decent and wholesome as it is directed to the middle part of America.

New York Post reported that before the performance, many of Beyoncé's dancers posted a photo of them with their fists raised to the sky. It reminded the people, especially the former mayor of the black power salute by two prominent athletes during the 1968 Olympic Games. They also posed for another photo with a sign that said "Justice 4 Mario Woods". It referred to the 26-year-old black man who was a victim of San Francisco police shooting in December.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani also stated in "Fox & Friends" that the black community should at least cooperate with the police when something bad happens. Daily Mail UK said it wasn't only the mayor who criticized Beyoncé's half time performance but also the members of the National Sheriffs' Association. They turned off their TV when it was the superstar's turn to perform. Another man who wasn't happy about the performance was former Illinois congressman turned radio host Joe Walsh. He said that Beyonce performed an anti-police song at halftime after getting police escort to the Super Bowl. He called the singer a "Liberal hypocrite".

The song Beyoncé performed was "Formation" and it shows her support for the Black community. Many people were already expecting her to have this statement at the Super Bowl after the music video of "Formation" was released.
