Child exploitation case vs. ex- Park Tudor coach strong due to evidence

A former teacher and boys basketball coach of Park Tudor School was arrested by the FBI for child exploitation investigation.

According to Fox59, the U.S. Attorney's Office confirmed that Kyle Cox, a former faculty member and boys basketball coach at Park Tudor School, was arrested by the FBI at his Fishers residence due to child exploitation and sexual misconduct to a minor. The search warrant at Park Tudor served on January by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force was to obtain information on Kyle Cox.

The court alleges that Cox formed an illegal affair with a 15- year- old girl studying at Park Tudor and whom he had tried to lure to meet with him and engage in a sexual activity with him while his family was out of their house on an out- of- town trip. He had allegedly used social network apps, particularly, Snapchat and Instagram, in sending sexually explicit photos and messages to the victim.

On December 15, 2015, a report was filed by the Associate Head of School for External Affairs indicating the inappropriate messages sent by the ex- coach to the victim. The victim's father was the one who discovered the illegal affair then told the school's administrators and even provided hard copies of the text messages including a photo of a minor engaged in a sexual activity. Kyle Cox, who also served as the school's assistant athletic director was terminated on that same month.

According to Indianapolis Star, the complaint indicated that the school allowed Cox to take a school computer which he had removed a personal file. The official report which was filed by the school was incomplete as it did not indicate the sexually explicit messages which they had in possession. It also said that the girl told the authorities on January 11 that Cox began to text her in September and asked her unusual question which made her feel uneasy.

In a report from WishTV, Cox sent a message to the victim through Instagram coaxing her to tell the authorities that she planted the photos on his iPad. In addition to the complaint, he had also lured the victim to engage with him in two spots inside the school aside from his house. He also told her to lie about their affair after the school had found out and even told her to make sure that he does not go to prison.

Authorities learned that Kyle Cox and the school signed a confidential agreement on his termination which prohibits him in communicating with other Park Tudor students or discuss the reasons of his resignation. However, Cox sent a message to one male student a day after his resignation where he said that he could work anywhere as he had made himself marketable. On February 8, Kyle Cox is scheduled to go back to court for a hearing.
