Huawei To Reveal Newest Devices At MWC 2016; P9, Dual-Boot Notebook May Be Included

Huawei has already sent out its invites to the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2016. The Chinese tech company is expected to reveal its newest devices like P9 and a dual-boot notebook at the event.

According to Phandroid, Huawei has created some noise last month during the CES 2016 when the company launched both the Huawei Mate 8 and US-targeted Honor 5X. But that doesn't mean the Chinese tech giant is already done with big announcements this year. Huawei has arranged a press event for Mobile World Congress next month. The Chinese smartphone maker may compete against big name OEMs like Samsung and LG who are both predicted to be unveiling their new flagships devices for 2016 as well.

According 9To5Google, Huawei's invitation to the press states "We invite you to join Richard Yu, Chief Executive Officer, Huawei Consumer Business Group, and other Huawei executives, for the global unveiling of Huawei's newest device at Mobile World Congress 2016. Come see how Huawei continues to meet the demands of the next generation of mobile innovation".

There were no photos with the invitation that will give a hint as to what Huawei has planned for the event on February 21st. But there are assumptions that Huawei might showcase the next generation P-series devices. It's been reported that the P9 and its rumored three siblings will have its own dedicated event a few weeks after MWC, similar to the P8 launch last year.

Apart from this speculation, Pocket-lint stated that Huawei is creating impressions in the smartphone industry. The company has projected great gains by producing some strong handsets in 2015 just like Nexus 6P, Mate S and the 2016 launch of the Mate 8.

What's missing for Huawei though is a regular flagship handset which would be the much anticipated Huawei P9. Although with a number of hot devices at the top, Huawei's strategy could be getting a little congested, but rumors for this upcoming smartphone have already started. One of the rumors suggested that the P9 won't be unveiled at MWC, but a dual-boot notebook instead.

Although it is not yet clear whether the Huawei P9 will debut during the MWC 2016, one thing is definite; Huawei will be launching devices that would most likely get the interest of tech enthusiasts.
