Overwatch Beta to Return This Month, Confirms Blizzard; Delay Brings New Modes and Maps

By

As Overwatch is still on the verge of being launched, gamers are expecting the possible beta continuity that was showcased late last year. However, the wait may not be too worth it, as the proposed beta is noted to have been moved by Blizzard Entertainment for reasons of their own.

Noted by Ecumenical News, the first person shooter marvel is set to make waves soon, but since Blizzard Entertainment seemingly has other ideas behind the title. After 2015's last closed beta that enlightened fans of what he game will be about, the one after it which was expected to arrive last month was cordially moved to an uncertainty.

As per Kit Guru, fans expected that January will be the month that the closed beta returns, however, Blizzard Entertainment may have a few things up their sleeves as the said beta was announced of making its return this month. The team believes that the time to be allotted for the beta will offer Blizzard the chance to overhaul or add features to Overwatch.

According to Game Spot, Game Director Jeff Kaplan was quoted, "We're going to take a few extra weeks before bringing the closed beta back. By doing so, we can make sure we can include the new game mode along with the new maps.

This will also allow us to do some additional polish to the game's progression and reward system. Though all these features will still technically be a work-in-progress during the beta, we'd like them to be at a certain quality bar before releasing them for testing."

Overwatch is Blizzard Entertainment's latest attempt at making a successful first-person shooter happen. Though no release date has been stated for the beta's return, fans are to deliver what is due to them with a little bit of patience in the coming weeks. Stay posted for more updates on Overwatch by Blizzard Entertainment.
