Xiaomi Mi Note, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi Note 3 Android 6.0 Marshmallow Release Update

Like other smartphone manufacturers, Xiaomi is expected to roll out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware to its handsets. The Xiaomi Mi Note, Mi 3, Mi 4 and Mi Note 2 are believed to receive the Marshmallow upgrade really soon.

According to International Business Times, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has finished the Android 6.0 Marshmallow beta testing for Xiaomi Mi Note. With this, it is expected that the firmware upgrade will hit the Mi Note handsets on February 22.

A report has also surfaced stating the Developer Edition of Xiaomi Mi Note has already got the Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based MIUI 7 update. But it is not yet known if it is the final one or a development ROM.

Xiaomi also started beta-testing the software for its devices like Mi 3, Mi 4 and Mi Note. The Bitbag stated that Xiaomi's MIUI operation manager confirmed that Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware for selected devices has reached its final testing phase. Thus, users do not need to worry anymore as the update process would commence soon.

The devices slated to receive Android M first are Xiaomi Mi 3, Mi 4 and Mi Note. RanGer wind, the Weibo account name of the MIUI operation, previously posted a screenshot of the latest update with MIUI 7 on it. It shows that the MIUI 5.12.24 update based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow weighs 518MB.

Softpedia reported that upon upgrading to Android 6.0, deep clean will now have support for managing videos and cleaning APK. files. This firmware update would also fix a home screen-related issue when using Snow fairy theme. As reported earlier, icons vanish for a moment after unlocking the handset.

Another bug fix the Marshmallow brings is the Cleaner. With this, Xiaomi users are assured that the error in calculating sizes of deep clean big files have been addressed. It is also expected to include visual and under-the-hood changes, but the official changelog doesn't state anything else.

Xiaomi is also expected to release the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to other devices like, Xiaomi Mi4i, Xiaomi Mi4c, Xiaomi Note 2, Xiaomi Note 2 Prime and Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. Users of the aforementioned units are advised to keep an eye for further schedule announcements.
