New 'Super Smash Bros.' Game To Be Nintendo NX's Launch Title; Release Slated In This Year's E3 Games Convention

Avid fans of Nintendo are already excited with the much awaited NX gaming console which is expected to be announced in this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo Games Convention. Recently, it was rumored that the gaming device might use the upcoming Smash Bros. game as its launch title.

According to Vine Report, there are several titles under development within BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment for the upcoming Nintendo NX console. The launch title for the gaming device is reported to be a Super Smash Bros. game. Japan-based video games industry consultant Serkan Toto recently revealed this through a social networking site. He stated something about a piece of alleged inside information regarding the production progress of the Nintendo NX console, or at least the games that will be released.

Based on the tipster, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment is currently working on several titles but he did not specify what are the titles or how many. But he did reveal that the gaming company is working on a certain Super Smash Bros. title as the launch game for the new console.

As noted by Geek, when Super Smash Bros was released on Wii U, it became the fastest selling title for the system. It has reached half a million units sold in its first three days on sale in the US alone. Up to this date, it has sold over 4 million copies on Wii U. Add in the 3DS version, and the game sold a total of 11.4 million copies, indicating how important of an IP Smash Bros. is for Nintendo.

Toto also emphasized on his posts that he doesn't know if the NX version of Smash Bros. will be a brand new numbered game in the series or something else. Nevertheless, tech enthusiasts are hoping that Nintendo has managed to secure a brand new game because that is precisely what the NX needs. Nintendo also needs to have some other first-party titles available during the launch that everyone wants to play.

The Independent added that although it's hard to find concrete information about the new game and there are very little is known about the NX itself, Nintendo has confirmed it's working on the new console. However, the company would only reveal more at some point during 2016 which most likely to occur at the E3 games convention in Los Angeles.

There had been lots of speculation over whether the Nintendo NX will be a handheld or a console or a hybrid of the two. It is also predicted that the gaming device might have an innovative touch-screen controller which is based on a recent Nintendo patent.

Nevertherless, numerous Nintendo fans are expected to purchase the NX right away especially if a new Smash Bros. title is released at launch.
