Street Fighter V Nears Feb. 16 Launch; Ken Masters' Strange New Look Explained by Capcom

By

Capcom's Street Fighter V has teased fans on more than one occasion in terms of characters, gameplay and even with how the characters will look on the upcoming fifth installment. Now that updates have been dished out for the characters' outfits, the time has come for one of the game's classics to get in on the action, and with a brand new look.

As per Now Gamer, fans have spoken out on some of the characters that they would want for the fifth installment, which are now known to possibly be downloadable contents or time release. That being said, one of the classic characters that many have grown to love has been given a full makeover; not only in the physical aspect, but also in terms of gameplay.

Delivered by Escapist Magazine, Ken was revealed of having a new outfit in contrast to the previous and notably conventional red karate top that was given to him since day one. Fans are now treated to a darker, seemingly silky sports top, but more importantly, his iconic long hair now pulled and tied back. There are those who think that the said outfit looks peculiar, but the team behind it stated that the reason for such is a valid one to consider.

Noted by Game Spot, Capcom Brand Manager Mike Lunn says that Ken was given the said distinction as to avoid being too identical with his all-time rival in the story, Ryu. This is to make a notable gap in between the two, and not stick with the "this-color-that-color" cliché. Moreover, Ken Masters' style was said to have also been given a full on change as well.

Street Fighter V is scheduled for launch on February 16th in the North American and European territories for the PlayStation 4 and PC. Stay tuned for further Street Fighter V news.
