‘Top Gun 2’ Update: Producer Jerry Bruckheimer, Tom Cruise met up for the sequel

Top Gun was showed nearly 30 years since then and now, previous reports indicate that they're continuing the story of Maverick. With the Top Gun 2 now in the making, big time producer Jerry Bruckheimer shared his involvement to the development of the sequel.

News update regarding the progress of Top Gun 2 surrounds the personal tweet by a key personnel, producer Jerry Bruckheimer. According to Comic Book, Jerry Bruckheimer, producer of the first film, flew over to New Orleans to discuss the film personally with Tom Cruise. Many speculated that Bruckheimer is detailing some tease to the fans. The post was on Twitter wherein Bruckheimer tweeted a photo with caption of Tom Cruise and "discuss a little Top Gun 2." This is a confirmation that the film is already in the process.

After this, the Xpose wrote that Sky Dance Productions have confirmed that the sequel was in works months before the tweet by Jerry Bruckheimer. The studio chief director David Ellison indicated that the film is in progress. Moreover, he hired Justin Marks to pen the upcoming movie's screenplay. With them are Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer to reprise their roles with the latter cannot contain his excitement over the sequel.

More to this, fans should expect that there are new things to see in the sequel. According to Movie News Guide, Ellison let the audience know that they'll be seeing the movie's contemporary take in technology. The Top Gun 2 will try to explore a world where fighter plans and pilots are running out of time.

The Top Gun 2 is the sequel to the critically reviewed film of Tom Cruise in 1986. It proved to be success but the sequel was delayed with decades in between them. However, now, the production has been hinted to be on the progress after confirmation of Sky Dance Productions chief director. Moreover, the producer Jerry Bruckheimer also teased the fans with a photo on Twitter stating that there's discussion between him and lead, Tom Cruise. No further details have been release for the Top Gun 2 but now, Tom Cruise can be seen in his latest film, The Mummy Remake.
