T-Mobile Adds LG V10 to Android 6.0 Marshmallow Priority List, Plus Release Date

By

T-Mobile just added LG V10 phone to its priority list for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update which is set to come in the next few weeks. The magenta carrier's move was reported to be in response to LG's roll out of the update to the unlocked versions of the phone.

LG V10 owners under operator T-Mobile will officially be receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update via over-the-air (OTA) release due in the coming weeks. New reports suggested that T-Mobile must now be out for something big, as the carrier has been keeping its Marshmallow list for a few months already since October 2015. One is the confirmed Marshmallow roll out of HTC on January 25 to its versions of One M8.

Among LG's phones, only G4 and G Stylo were able to get the update so far as unlocked versions are concerned, while G3 remains to be in the waiting list for now. Moreover, if T-Mobile might not be able to make it mid this week, Marshmallow should come by February.

LG V10 has a 5.7-inch display with a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The front camera wears a 16 MP lens while rear camera has a pair of lens, each has 5 MP. The fingerprint sensor is found on the front camera. It runs on Snapdragon 808 processor, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, micro SD slot, and a 3,000 mAh battery.

Per changelog seen on G4 smartphones, the official Android 6.0 Marshmallow build will come with a host of fixes for bugs for MMS, battery, reboot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and camera.

The MMS or picture messages encounter failure to send or delayed receipt of the content. All messaging apps like Google Hangouts, stock messenger and third-party apps are affected by the bug. In most cases, "Download and images never work."

With regards to the battery, "logd" found on the battery stats settings menu allegedly consume about 20 percent of power. This has been fixed in Korean and international versions of the device and will soon be fixing Sprint versions.
