Motorola Moto G Turbo Edition Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update Begins

By

Motorola has officially began rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to Moto G Turbo Edition. The update is quite heavy which implies that the company is really out for something big.

Motorola Moto G Turbo Edition smartphones are now live receiving the official Android 6.0 Marshmallow via over-the-air (OTA) update in India. Coming heavy with exciting features, Marshmallow is expected to hit versions in the United States after a couple of days the roll out is completed.

According to early reports, Marshmallow weighs 445 MB. However, many users found out that the update is actually 603 MB, a whopping number to consider. Nevertheless, Android 6.0 is a major update so it is far from questioning why the software is heavy on the sides.

When device is updated, the Android firmware version of the phone should now be 24.11.22. To check the availability of the software update, go to Settings > About device > Software updates.

As many would know, Android 6.0 Marshmallow carriers two major makeover in Android Run Time (ART) and flex storage.

Originally, a feature good as an option only, Android Run Time (ART) evolves into a useful Android phone staple. Aside from tweaks from the design, Marshmallow optimized ART close to perfection. It will improve the overall performance of the device and primarily helps in managing RAM usage. It also extends to battery management for greater control of consumption.

Flex storage on the other hand is an integrated feature for internal and external storage space. When users need to format the external space, stored data can be pooled to the other so that system runs the same and vice versa. It is important to take note, however, that lower space may trigger a low speed warning.

Marshmallow is also coming up with Now on Tap, fingerprint support, USB Type-C support, more secured Android Pay, power-saving Doz, app standby, app drawer makeover, simpler volume controls, and security fixes.
