Mexican judge upholds sentence against US TV producer

A 12-year imprisonment has been upheld by the Mexican state court against Bruce Beresford-Redman, former 'Survivor' producer that has been convicted for killing his wife in 2010. The state court has decided to deny the former producer's appeal; hence, the sentence.

Quintana Roo, Mexico state prosecutors has handed down the sentence to Bruce Beresford-Redman for being the main suspect of killing his own wife, the Brazilian-born Monica Burgos Beresford-Redman, during their vacation in Cancun Beach in year 2010. The former 'Survivor' producer's lawyer has confirmed the said denial of the court on Monday, January 18, 2016, New York Times shared in a report.

The said lawyer, Attorney Jaime Cancino Leon, has expressed that there was no concrete evidence to support the said verdict so its appeal was denied by the Mexican state court. He also expressed that there has been some irregularities during the trial. Moreover, he pronounced that their side will still file another round of appeal to Mexico's supreme court in order to make up for the case and have another shot to be freed or lower down the initial decree, Yahoo! News cited.

As noted by ABC News, the said murder happened during the suspect's vacation together with his family. Monica Burgos Beresford-Redman's body was reportedly found in a sewer cistern at the resort in Cancun Beach where the family checked in during the said vacation. In accordance, Bruce Beresford-Redman has been the main suspect for the said killing and thus trialed and now sentenced for a 12-year imprisonment.

Appeals from the side of the former 'Survivor' producer will be lay down to convene the Mexican state court sentence to him of more than a decade imprisonment. Bruce Beresford-Redman was charged of the said verdict because of lack of evidence and case irregularities that have been investigated for the case by the state court.
