Jodi Arias Trial Resumes Tuesday (WATCH LIVE STREAM)

By

Jodi Arias, the woman accused of the brutal stabbing, shooting and killing of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander, resumed on Tuesday. Arias' first-degree murder trial has been postponed since last Thursday when the presiding judge Sherry Stephens fell ill. Including the President's Day holiday, it has been almost a week since she has taken the stand.

For about a month, the jury has heard racy, explicit and lurid details about the deranged and troubled relationship between Arias and Alexander, leading to his death. Arias confessed last week to killing Alexander out of self-defense, portraying him as a liar, womanizer and someone who battered her into submission. The prosecution has sought to paint Arias as a vindictive and jealous killer.

Arias has previously talked about her troubled life, including an abusive childhood and dead-end jobs, leading up to her failed romance to Alexander. Experts said defense lawyers are trying to build sympathy with jurors. She has yet to discuss the the killing.

Arias faces the death penalty if convicted of first-degree murder of killing Alexander in his suburban Phoenix home.
