Call of Duty Black Ops 3 DLC 1 Available Feb. 2 for PS4; Pre-Order Gets An Exclusive 'Awakening' Dyamic Theme

Following its insanely successful launch in November, Call of Duty Black Ops 3 is set to receive its first map pack called 'The Awakening' DLC early next month. Meanwhile, Treyarch's highly acclaimed title has also been hailed as the 2015 Best Selling Game beating the very popular Fallout 4, Star Wars Battlefront, and other AAA title releases last year.  

As the arrival of the first DLC for Call of Duty Black Ops 3 is fast approaching, gamers  who are not Season Pass holders can now pre-order on the PS4 to avail of an exclusive freebie. This bonus item is an exclusive Awakening dynamic theme, Design & Trend reports.

"Preorder DLC 1 - Awakening or purchase the 'Black Ops 3' season pass to receive this exclusive PS4 dynamic system theme, giving you a sneak peek at the Der Eisendrache Zombies experience," reads the post.

The sneak peek has also confirmed the official release date of the game's first map pack on February 2 on the PlayStation 4.

Treyarch studio head Mark Lumia proudly announces the upcoming release of the game's DLC 1 commenting, "Since 'Black Ops 3' launched last month, the response from our community has been incredible in every way. With Awakening, the studio is focused on creating a wide variety of gameplay experience for our fans in multiplayer and zombies that will keep players coming back for more."

In more news, Call of Duty Black Ops 3 has been claimed as the bestselling game of 2015 based on the latest study from NPD Group. Treyarch's newest main  title has paved the way for the CoD franchise to garner the highest selling record for video games in North America for the last seven years.  

With the wildly received Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 release late last year, the game series has now totaled more than 250 million copies sold to date. In 2015, NPD Group's list courtesy of EnGadget indicates that the third installment of the CoD franchise outsells popular games such as Madden NFL 16, Fallout 4, Star Wars Battlefront, Grand Theft Auto V and NBA 2k16, Minecraft, FIFA 16 and Mortal Kombat X including Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare as 2014 bestselling game. 

Developed by Treyarch and published by Activision, Call of Duty Black Ops 3 is a military science fiction first-person shooter video game launched on November 6. The Awakening DLC is the title's first map pack coming first on PS4 come February 2.
