‘Ready One Player’ Update: Steven Spielberg just found film’s villain; Shooting would be in Louisiana

Steven Spielberg's newest film is now showing progress as he eyes one actor to play the villain in upcoming film Ready One Player. Moreover, reports show that paperwork for the filming has been done to set the production's latest progress.

After being assigned to helm the Warner Bros. project, Ready One Player, Steven Spielberg is now on the move to look for the film's big bad villain. According to Empire Online, Ben Mendelsohn has signed to be the villainous character in dystopian science fiction adaptation of the 2011 book. Mendelsohn will be expected to play the major antagonist, Nolan Sorrento, against the film's lead character, Owen Watts. If the reports deemed true, Mendelsohn is the second actor to be named in the cast for Ready One Player after Olivia Cooke who is scheduled to play the love interest of Wade and blogger from Canada, Art3mis.

Readers of the book should not worry regarding the credibility of Mendelsohn as the film antagonist in the award-winning book of Ernest Cline. As the Slash Film reported, Mendelsohn has been in the film industry for a subtle 30 years now. More to this, he's had a couple of breakthrough in acting as he breathed life to characters in Animal Kingdom, and Netflix's Bloodline. Not only in TV screens but Mendelsohn will be seen in the upcoming Star Wars sequel/spin-off film, Rogue One. Some of the actor's movies are also The Dark Knight Rises, Killing Them Softly, Exodus: Gods and Kings and the Slow West.

Regarding the film's progress in production, reports indicate that the production team has secured the locale of Louisiana. The WBRZ stated that a Californian Company just filed paperwork for the newest Spielberg movie. Since the film is set to start its direction in fall of 2016, the production plans to allocate $13.6 million for the project with 343 jobs and 8 days of shooting.

The Ready One Player is the newest Steven Spielberg film that is an adaptation of the 2011 book by Ernest Cline. The director is eyeing Ben Mendelsohn as the villain Nolan Sorrento in the film. Moreover, reports said that there is a plan to shoot the film in Louisiana starting September. Ready One player is slated for December 15, 2017 release.
