‘Sherlock Holmes 3’ Update: Producer confirmed that film is happening; Plot suggestions of the 3rd installment uncovered

Film franchise, Sherlock Holmes, will continue to do mystify its audience with the planned third instalment to the series as indicated by one of its producers. Moreover, Jude Law, playing Dr. John Watson, shared some thoughts about leaked information that circles about the plot of the third.

Certainly, fans have been waiting for the sequel to the 2011 action mystery film of Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes. However, despite years of silence, some of the team's main individuals have released the progress on the anticipated film. International Business Times reported that though release date hasn't been confirmed or hinted, producer Lionel Wigram stated that the part 3 is happening. In his statement, he said that there has been many meetings and emphasizing that a key individual who is a really good writer has committed to the film. The producer added that they're in a bit of challenge since they're looking forward to a story that is "fantastic" and that they want to leave the audience in awe.

Not only the producer shared the progress but rather a familiar face playing Dr. Watson, also gave his ideas. According to Christian Post, the actor suggested a nicely done change of setting plot for the third film. He stated that it'll be better if there's time travel action for the duo. However, franchise director Guy Ritchie was fast enough to reject the idea he suggested. This would be a diverging from the series setting of 1800s that was used for the first two films. Nonetheless, this indicates that the actor will be back for the third film.

Lastly, it should be noted that Robert Downey Jr, playing Sherlock Holmes, might also be marketing the film subtlety. In an article by Cross Map, the actor posted a photo in his Facebook page wherein he's likely playing the role of lead character. The photo's background is the typical brick houses and fans speculated that it is in Europe-London locale. Though the actor didn't state anything, it might be an indication that there is progress on the film's production.

Sherlock Holmes 3 is the third instalment to the mystery action film series directed by Guy Ritchie. The franchise starred Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law as the main characters. Information regarding the progress of the film has been minimal but nevertheless, these can satisfy the waiting fans. The confirmation has been given by its producer but the release dates, plot and casting of the anticipated film are still in vague.
