‘Mad Max: The Wasteland’ Cast, News: Tom Hardy downplays great acting jobs saying it’s “pretty cool”

'Mad Max: The Wasteland' is a planned action-adventure film that will feature the return of Tom Hardy as titular character Max Rockatansky. Hardy downplayed his great and fruitful acting jobs saying that it was all "pretty cool". Director George Miller also talked about the creation of his reboot series.

Hardy is one of Hollywood's newest sought-after actors. According to National Post, he starred as lead protagonist Max Rockatansky in Miller's reboot of classic dystopian film first released April 1979 following in Mel Gibson's footsteps. He also starred in Alejandro G. Inarritu's biographical film 'The Revenant' opposite Oscar-nominee Leonardo DiCaprio as well as in Brian Hilgeland's crime-thriller 'Legend' opposite alongside Emily Browning.

Hardy said, "Just to get a job is pretty cool... So far, I've exceeded my expectations - I feel like I'm living on borrowed time." The 38-year old English actor broke through the acting scene in 2001's 'Black Hawk Down' and went on to appear in critically-acclaimed films such as 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy', 'Inception', 'The Dark Knight Rises' and 'Warrior'.

According to Windsor Star, Hardy seems excited for future prospects saying, "Whatever comes along, and it's interesting and it's going to be fun and there are people I want to work with, I'll do... There's no prerequisite." He is all set to reprise his role in Miller's upcoming sequel 'Mad Max: The Wasteland'.

Meanwhile, Miller talked about how his reboot took a decade of pre-production before finally beginning principal production in Namibia in 2012. According to BTL News, the visionary filmmaker revealed that the the idea of revisiting his classic started 15 years ago but he kept pushing it off. Finally, he admitted, "...it kept insisting on itself, popping up in unguarded moments, say on an airplane, and I couldn't stop thinking about it."

As fate would have it, Miller's reboot became one of 2015's most highly critically acclaimed films of the year.  The film dominated honors from critic groups as well as awards shows including the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards (AACTA) Awards where it won Best Film, Best Cinematography and Best Original Musical Score among others.

'Mad Max: The Wasteland' is an upcoming action-adventure and science-fiction film written and directed by George Miller. It is intended as a follow-up to 'Mad Max: Fury Road' and will be the fifth installment in the Mad Max cinematic franchise.
