'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7 airs Ep. 10 Jan. 29 : Leslie-Anne Huff to replace Nina Dobrev?

Leslie-Anne Huff joins "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 to portray the character of Rayna. EP Caroline Dries also cleared that Leslie was cast not to replace Nina and teases what happens next.

Leslie-Anne Huff officially joins the cast of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7. According to Christian Post, Huff will be playing the character of Rayna, a vampire hunter who will be the cause of many problems in Mystic Falls. The outlet further detailed that Rayna is an intelligent, fierce, and focus-driven.

With that being said, reports even surfaced that if the 31-year-old American actress was added to the cast to replace lead character Nina Dobrev in the series. This is because Huff looks a lot like Nina Dobrev who recently left the series.

Regarding Leslie-Anne Huff's casting, executive producer Caroline Dries discussed with TV Line about the said issue. Dries stated,  "That's definitely just a coincidence. We looked at a lot of actors, and I was like, I think she looks exactly like Nina. I was convinced otherwise. I actually haven't met her yet in person, though, and everyone says she doesn't look like her in person. She's a great actress, and she's perfect for the role... We'll get to see her present-day story and then everything will click when you see her in the future."

Moreover, Dries also teased what fans should expect in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 Episode 10. As noted on Design and Trend, Caroline (Candice Accola-King) is expected to give birth to the twins of Alaric (Matt Davis) and Jo (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe). Will Damon (Ian Somerhalder) will resurrect from the dead.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 Episode 10 is entitled "Hell is the Other People". The upcoming episode is slated to air in January 29, 2016 on a new time slot on Fridays exclusively on CW. "The Vampire Diaries" (abbreviated as TVD) is an American supernatural drama TV series developed by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec. The storyline is based on L.J.'s Smith's novel series under the same name.
