Everything about the "James Bond" franchise always evokes a lot of interest. Aside from the debonair Bond character, modern gadgets, beautiful women, inimitable dialogue and impeccable cinematography, the James Bond franchise is also remembered for its theme songs. With a list of musicians such as Madonna, Paul McCartney and Duran Duran et al, the latest pop-sensation Adele has been added to the list.

The multiple Grammy Award winner will be singing the theme song in the upcoming movie, "Skyfall." Watch the video here.

The singer is already receiving a lot of applause for the song. According to Extra, the song is already number two on the iTunes singles chart. The pregnant singer sings the theme song in her usual deep, haunting, heartfelt voice.

Adele told BBC, "I was a little hesitant at first ... There's a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a Bond song...But I fell in love with the script, and Paul [Epworth] had some great ideas for the track, and it ended up being a bit of a no-brainer to do it in the end," she went to add "I'll be back combing my hair when I'm 60 telling people I was a Bond girl back in the day, I'm sure."

It has been 50 years since we were first introduced to the very suave James Bond, played by the ever so graceful Sean Connery in 1962. Five decades and six actors later, the ultimate spy-movie will return to the big screen with Daniel Craig in "Skyfall."

"Skyfall" releases October 26 in the U.K. and November 9 in the U.S.

Yahoo News came up with a list of the top ten James Bond Songs of all times, here's what Yahoo's Rob O'Connor thinks.
