Jerry Sandusky Update: ABC to Interview Victim 1 in PSU Sex-Abuse Scandal

By

The mysterious Victim 1, who played an integral role in the conviction of former Penn State University assistant football coach, will finally reveal his identity in an interview with ABC and talk about his allegations against Sandusky as well as a new tell-all book he is writing on the scandal.

In 2009, Victim 1 and his mother filed a complaint regarding Jerry Sandusky. The complaint sparked a long investigation that revealed a number of people coming forward confessing similar abuses perpetrated by the  revered coach. Throughout the Sandusky trial the identity of Victim 1 had been preserved, but now he will come forth in an interview and talk about the incidences of molestation that took place around eight years ago when he was 11 years old.

The lawyer of Victim 1, attorney Michael Boni confirmed news about the interview to the New York Post, but did not reveal when it was scheduled to air. ABC has also remained mum about the precise details of the episode.

Currently, the 68-year-old Sandusky awaits his prison sentence which is set to October 9 in Center County Prison. On Thursday new allegations that Sandusky was involved in a child-porn ring surfaced throughout the media. The validity of these accusations has not been confirmed, but it might play a role in Judge John Cleland's decision to categorize Sandusky as a violent sexual predator, a request made by state prosecutor. If he receives the following classification, he will get a lifetime prison sentence.

In May, a jury of seven women and five men found him guilty of 45 out of the 48 counts against him for sexual abuse of ten young boys over a span of 15 years. He could face a sentence of 400 years with no parole.
