New Polls Show Obama Leads Romney in Important States

By

A new poll conducted by the New York Times in conjunction with CBS News and Quinnipiac University show that President Barrack Obama leads the poll against presumed Republican candidate Mitt Romney for the 2012 Presidential elections in the three important states of Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania.

According to poll in the state of Florida 51 percent of voters favored Obama for president, while 48 percent said that they were voting for Massachusetts governor Romney. In the State of Ohio 50 percent constituents claimed to be  voting Obama, while 44 percent Romney. And lastly, in Pennsylvania 53 percent told surveys they'd vote for the current president, while 42 percent said they wanted Romney for president. The margin of error is said to be three percent.

Another poll released by Hofstra University's National Center for Suburban Studies revealed that 45 percent of independents were voting Romney, while 41 percent for Obama, in November 2011 a similar poll by the same institution showed a greater gap between voter preferences with 48 percent favoring Romney and 40 percent Obama. The margin of error for the poll is 3.5 percent.

The 2012 Presidential Elections is expected to be a tough battle for both candidates; President Obama has seen a decrease in support since his presidency in 2008, the economy being the paramount cause for the slipping disapproval rate. According to the center's Executive Dean Levy Lawrence "Suburban voters have been deciding national elections for about a generation so it's positive news for President Obama that his prospects have improved...But his standing with suburbanites -- which tracks with their feelings about the economy -- is volatile and could shift dramatically by November if they lose faith in their financial futures," according to the New York Daily News.
