The release date of "Indiana Jones 5" is yet to be announced, but fans are already abuzz to see Dr. Jones back on screen.
However, things may be different for this fifth installment as veteran actor Harrison Ford has not yet given any commitment on taking the role.
Ford, who played the iconic character of "Indy Jones" in a fedora, has just recovered from a broken ankle and is presently busy filming "Star Wars: Episode VII."
Ford had starred in all four "Indiana Jones" films released: 1981's "Raiders of the Lost Ark", 1984's "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom", 1989's "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" and 2008's "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."
Meanwhile, Ridley Scott has also confirmed, as per report by Entertainment Weekly, that the veteran actor has signed on for the sequel of "Blade Runner."
"It's written and it's damn good. Of course it involves Harrison, who is a survivor after all these years-despite the accident. So yes, that will happen," said Scott.
These news, along with Ford's injury, has fueled rumors of a possible recast for the sequel.
Among the celebrities rumored to take over the fedora and whip from Ford are "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson and "Guardians of the Galaxy" actors Bradley Cooper and Chris Pratt.
However, both Pattinson and Cooper have denied their involvement on the film, as per report from KpopStars.
Earlier this year, a source shared with MarketSaw about Ford's contract of the film.
"Regarding Harrison Ford, two more Indiana Jones features are in the negotiation stages as per Ford's contract clause on Star Wars, which is the primary reason he didn't 'publicly' or 'privately' commit, or so I'm told," spilled the insider earlier this year.
Rumors have been making rounds online that the fifth installment of "Indiana Jones" will be reprise after Disney acquired the franchise rights from Paramount Pictures.
