Aaron Goodwin, known for his role on "Ghost Adventures," delivered an emotional victim impact statement in court Thursday as his estranged wife, Victoria Goodwin, was sentenced for conspiring to have him murdered.
"For seven years I thought I was in [the] most loving relationship of marriage with my best friend," Goodwin, 49, told the judge through tears.
"Discovering she put a hit out to kill me more than once, got blackmailed and spent almost all our savings to keep it quiet," Goodwin continued, "has led me to fear for my life."
Authorities say Victoria Goodwin conspired with Grant Amato, a convicted murderer she met after watching the Paramount+ docuseries Ctrl + Alt + Desire. According to investigators, the two discussed arranging Aaron's murder, including financial details. She pleaded guilty to one felony count of conspiracy to commit murder in April.
"After finding out she was cheating on me...with multiple men...I gave her the option of divorce, or we could try to work it out, because I loved her so much," Goodwin recalled. He filed for divorce in March, shortly after learning of the alleged plot.
"I will never feel safe or be the same because of what she did," he said. "Especially when she gets out one day."
Victoria Goodwin was sentenced to 36 to 90 months in prison, KVVU-TV reported. Grant Amato is currently serving life in prison without the possibility of parole.
