A DoorDash delivery driver was arrested in Washington state after returning to a customer's home with a gun, demanding a cash tip.

Robert Delehant delivered about $100 worth of groceries to a woman's home in Vancouver, Washington, on May 28. Although she tipped him in the app, Delehant returned to the woman's home the following morning as her family, including her father, sat down for breakfast, KGW reported.

"It startled my daughter, and she goes, 'Oh my gosh,' you know, 'who the heck's pounding on the door?'" Anthony Volino, the woman's father, told the outlet. "She went to the door, answered the door, and he introduced himself as the DoorDash driver from the night before and she goes, 'OK, did I forget anything?'"

Volino went to the door to assist his daughter and "immediately smelled alcohol."

"For a split second, I thought about giving the guy a couple of dollars, but when he again said, 'I want my tip,' that's when I said, 'Whoa, whoa.' I said, 'You need to leave,'" Volino recounted.

The discussion ended up leading to a physical altercation in which the DoorDash driver ended up on the ground. That's when Volino realized he was armed.

Volino was able to disarm the man after pulling away his gun. No one was injured in the incident.

Police arrived and arrested Delehant, who was later charged with felony harassment, DUI and assault. His driver profile was also immediately deactivated, according to a statement from DoorDash, which said they have "a zero-tolerance policy for harassment of any kind."
