An unemployed Colorado woman shot her boyfriend twice in the head after he "expressed skepticism" about her finding a job.

In August 2020, Ashley White, 29, texted her boyfriend Cody DeLisa, 28, while on a bus home from a job interview in Denver. DeLisa "expressed skepticism about her changes of getting the job, which upset White," prosecutors stated, according to Denver7.

White then spoke with a man on the bus, who allegedly asked whether DeLisa had raped her to which she responded he had. The man then allegedly told White they should kill him.

The two then went to White's home where they met DeLisa, shot him twice in the head and stole his wallet. His body was found during a wellness check the following day prompted by his employer.

White spent two days with the man before they separated. She was later arrested, and on Tuesday, she was found guilty of second-degree murder, conspiracy to commit second-degree murder and robbery in connection with DeLisa's death.

The man from the bus was apprehended in 2023 after his girlfriend at the time contacted police, telling them he had confessed he helped kill DeLisa. He will not be charged for the murder, however, because he was deemed incompetent to stand trial.

White's sentencing is scheduled for April 4.
