After six months, a North Carolina man's family is still searching for answers after he mysteriously disappeared.

George Taylor, 54, was last seen at his home in Sanford, WRAL-5 reported. In June, the North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued an alert, stating there was "significant concern" for his health and well-being.

Taylor was last seen, according to WRAL, walking barefoot near his home. Taylor is a 5'4 Black man with brown eyes and weighs 133 pounds. He was wearing a black and white shirt, blue and white striped pants, and a gray toboggan-style hat.

Taylor had been living in a group home operated by Professional Family Care Services Inc., the Sanford Herald reported. The newspaper reported that Taylor suffers from a mental health disorder and left home without his medication.

"The staff said he walked away around midnight," his brother, Derrick Taylor, told the newspaper. "Nobody has seen him, and this is not like him."

Authorities are asking anyone with information on George Taylor's whereabouts to contact the Harnett County Sheriff's Office at 910-893-9111.
