A Mississippi couple were found dead in their home in an alleged murder-suicide, just weeks after the wife had praised their "very civil divorce" on TikTok.

Jennifer Sheffield, 30, a mother of two and aspiring doctor enrolled in a master's program at Mississippi College, had recently separated from her husband Brandon Sheffield, 40, after years of marriage, WLBT reported.

The couple was reportedly going through a peaceful divorce, as Jennifer shared in a December 10 TikTok video, highlighting their commitment to co-parenting their daughters amicably.

On the morning of December 28, Jennifer's family conducted a welfare check at the couple's home after not hearing from her.

Police arrived at the Toulon Street residence around 7:19 a.m., where they found evidence of foul play. Inside, authorities discovered the bodies of Jennifer and Brandon.

Law enforcement determined that Brandon had shot Jennifer before taking his own life. Their two daughters' whereabouts and wellbeing during the incident remain unclear.

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support the couple's daughters, aiming to raise $15,000 for their future needs.

Meanwhile, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is working alongside local police to investigate the tragedy further.
