A former NFL star who "targeted single mothers" and "intentionally" gave them herpes is being sued by a woman after he allegedly transmitted to her the incurable STD, according to a recently filed lawsuit.

Eric Moulds, a former wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills is accused of knowingly infecting the victim following an alleged "unprotected" sexual encounter, court records state, according to the Miami Herald.

He is being sued for negligence and intentional causes of action, failure to disclose and infliction of emotional distress. The lawsuit alleges Moulds "targeted single mothers who were Buffalo Bills fans living in Western New York" and "intentionally" infected the women.

The victim allegedly met Moulds through Instagram in 2018 and they "developed a sexual relationship" by 2023, the suit filed Tuesday read, according to the outlet.

During their last sexual encounter in November 2023, the victim claimed they opted out of protection, and she began to experience symptoms a month later. As a result, she subsequently tested positive for herpes simplex virus type 2, according to the filing.

The victim alleged Moulds was the only person she was having a sexual relationship with at the time and that he never disclosed he had herpes, although he was aware he was infected.

Unbenknownst to the victim, Moulds was engaged to another woman with whom he was expecting a child the same time they were seeing each other.

The victim connected with Moulds' fiancée, who allegedly recommended the victim get tested for STDs "because she, along with other women whom Defendant had relationships with, had been transmitted diseases by him," the filing read, the outlet reported.

Moulds' attorney, Frank LoTempio, said Friday his client had not yet been served the lawsuit.

"I will respond once we get properly served, and defend this, probably to the point of a trial," LoTempio said in a statement to The Buffalo News.

The victim claimed Moulds offered her money in an effort to get her to drop the suit and "buy her silence," which she declined, according to the Miami Herald.
