Two Florida minors are in custody and a neighborhood is left shaken, thanks to a viral social media trend.

Atlantic Beach Police in Jacksonville, Florida shared videos on Thursday of minors participating in an online challenge where "they go up to unsuspecting homes and kick their door as hard as they can and then run away," adding that there have been multiple incidents reported in the Jacksonville area.

Police confirmed with ActionNewsJax that two minors, 12 and 13, were identified after the incident and charged with criminal mischief and property damage.

"There was 3 loud bangs at the door," Amanda Coats told ActionNewsJax. "My son was screaming. I was freaked out. I open up the back door because I was gonna' run out the back door with my son, because I didn't know what was going on."

Coats wasn't the only resident shaken by the viral challenge.

"There's people that have like families. There's little kids in these houses. There's people that are older and obviously people that have like PTSD like there's so many factors that play into it," Macy Ditto told the news outlet.

Florida is not the only state where the viral "door kicking" challenge has been reported, and the challenge has been going on for some time.

In Delaware last year, police released doorbell footage of multiple suspects who damaged 3 homes participating in the TikTok challenge, according to 6ABC.
