You're still dealing with the aftermath of your accident, you're recuperating and following your doctors' advice, sadly now you're worrying about your finances and your spiralling medical bills. Not forgetting that you're still reeling from the fact that none of this is your fault!

What you need is a personal injury lawyer who can inform you through the process and evaluate your case. Click here to find out more about Pintas & Mullins. So, a simple consultation sounds like the best idea right now. However, with many consultations working on a time limit, it's difficult to know what questions you should be asking your potential personal injury lawyer at this initial stage. After all, they may not be the firm for you.

So, with this in mind, we'll look at 4 questions to ask during your personal injury claim consultation.

Have you worked a case like mine before?

It's safe to say that most lawyers have a general idea of all areas of law. However, if you've approached a personal injury lawyer specifically, it's important that you ascertain where their knowledge lies. If you're suffering from an injury from a car crash, you'd be better suited speaking to a legal team who have experience in that field rather than someone who usually works with medical malpractice cases. That way they're more likely to know how to handle your case effectively.

Are you going to be handling my case?

Knowing who is going to represent you is crucial. And the person you speak to at your consultation may not be the lawyer who'll take on your case. Senior legal minds may decide if your case is worth filing, but then it may be handed over to a junior lawyer instead. While they should be perfectly qualified, it's worth bearing this in mind if you'd prefer to work with someone with more experience.

Will I need to participate in my case?

If the answer to this question is no, then you've got the wrong lawyer. Most attorneys expect their clients to take an active part in their case, and they'll want to get to know you so you can all work together to get the best possible outcome.

Do you have any references?

A lawyer suited to your case will be only too happy to hand over a list of references to you. It allows you to see whether or not you'll be able to work with them and if they're the right fit for you.
